A mother and daughter was reported missing on Sunday evening after having gone out by canoe on Lake Vänern.
At 23 o’clock found those of the Sea Rescue helicopter
– They are safe and sound and did not need medical attention, says Emilie Wallsten, communications officer at the Swedish Maritime Administration.
The German woman and her ten year old daughter went out by canoe on the lake Vänern from a camping Mellerud at lunchtime.
The idea was that they would be back at 18 o’clock. When they appeared struck a relative alarm.
A large sökpådrag went out to look for the woman and her daughter. Both the police, emergency services and Search and Rescue dispatched several units to the area.
– We have one helicopter, two boats and jet skis out looking, says Christel Englund, deputy rescue leader at the MRCC.
According to Christel Englund weather has been fine, with calm winds during the day.
The MRCC state that the mother and daughter were traveling in a two-seater aluminum canoe.

At 23 o’clock found the mother and daughter at the Isthmus sands, a piece south from the campsite.
– It was our helicopter discovered a canoe at the water there. The woman and her daughter were in the country and were safe and sound, says Emilie Wallsten.
