The Swedish Migration Board will demand answers from Cirkus Scott after the Expressen disclosure that the company secretly signed dual contracts with a group of Latin American dancers.
– This is something we need to look at, says Robert Kollberg who is director of the Migration Board’s work unit in Stockholm.
– If it is true what you write in the article that the company has not lived up to the employment and wage conditions as they have promised. And it is the foundation for the work permit. But we want in this situation form our own opinion first.
On Thursday revealed Expressen that the company behind Cirkus Scott, Flatgaroo Production AB, has misled the Migration Board by signing dual contracts with their Latin American dancers.
Flatgaroo promise of job offer sent to the Migration Board that the dancers must work full time and earn 25,200 dollars a month. Wages also confirmed in an official contract. But secretly, the company signed another contract with the dancers where the salary is only 8,800 dollars a month.
Request data
Now, therefore, the Swedish Migration Board to investigate what happened.
– We will in the first place to turn to now, says Robert Kollberg.
Are you going to ask the employees?
– No, not in the first stage. If we ask for out these tasks from the company and ask them on their honor, then we should of course get the correct information.
But the reason that you have to look at this is surely to they have provided incorrect information?
– According to what you write, they have provided incorrect information. We’ll see what we get from them, and then we think about how we move forward in the next stage.
“not legally binding”
If the Migration Board discovers that an employer states a salary in his offer of employment but in reality pay another salary is normally no opportunity to punish the employer. That’s because the job offer is not legally binding.
– If there is an employer that repeatedly seeking work permits for people from third countries, one can switch tougher demands on them at future applications. That is the opportunity we have, says Robert Kollberg.
But when it comes to the Latin American dancers engaged by Circus Scott is thus also an official contracts where the salary specified in the offer of employment, 25,200 crowns a month, confirmed.
– There is something that I must check more closely, says Robert Kollberg.
Will new salary
Flatgaroos CEO Robert Bronett writes in an email to Expressen that 8800 crowns are the dancers’ net pay based on gross pay 13,000 crowns. According Bronett were dancers employees at halftime.
But the job offer that he signed it is full time. And according Theatre Union, which Flatgaroo has agreements with, any collective agreement for artistic activities full time.
After Expressen confronted Robert Bronett with the dual contracts dancers have received a new salary is 19,200 crowns. Bronett confirm that they are now full time employees.
