No prosecution for attack against abortion law – Helsingborgs Dagblad

– Everyone was there was very scared. The circumstances were such that one could not get out, rökbomben blocked the only entrance, says Ottar’s chief editor Carolina Hemlin said.

None were physically injured in the attack, which police classified as “disturbing public meeting”.

The attack has been hailed in the Nazi web forum with comments such as “a very good initiative” and “wonderful news”. Even before the arrangement was performed according to Carolina Hemlin threat of right-wing sites – something that the police have looked at during the investigation, but has not led to any could be linked to the crime.

– We do not see the data as a way forward to get the identity of the perpetrators. We must bind them to the deed, says Ann-Charlotte Sand Ottar.

For Ottar and RFSU’s part has the attack meant that it now feel compelled to hire guards on similar gatherings.

– But we have not been more reticent about what we write or what we do events, says Carolina Hemlin.

At the inauguration of the Gothenburg Film Festival in January spoke of culture and democracy, Minister Alice Bah Kuhnke (MP) about the incident and called it “an attack on our democracy.”

Carolina Hemlin agrees, and describes this kind of violence against abortion rights activists as a new phenomenon in Sweden.

– The worst would be if this result a legitimisation of violence against people who work with human rights and freedom issues. The attack became a symbol of that nobody is protected.
