Åsa Romson made a public apology for his Nazi faux pas of party leaders debate.
But in parts of the Green Party questioned now the spokesman ability to lead the party.
– We have a leader who does not understand how to talk politics, says an MP-source.
After yesterday’s party leader debate on SVT forced Deputy Prime Minister Åsa Romson to fold flat and pray excuse for their severely criticized statements.
Then she compared both refugee situation in the Mediterranean with the Auschwitz concentration camp and on two occasions called Roma for “Gypsy” in interviews.
She told me she had been in contact with the Jewish community in Stockholm and Roma radio.
– This is to ensure that it comes out how sorry I am these formulations.
Romsons statements were criticized on a broad front – from right to left. But even internally in the Green Party was discontent.
– I reacted strongly, it is not a right statement. It is obvious that it is terrible what is happening on the Mediterranean Sea right now. But it can not compare it with one of the worst political system that we have had in the world, says Lorentz Tovatt, spokesperson for the Green Youth.
strongly criticized internally
From Green Youth thought also to Romsons apology came too late. According to Aftonbladet sources it is not only the Youth League there is irritation – it has also spread to the MP’s top layer.
– Romson said stupid things, I heard it and was amazed. But in the long term, she will be sentenced for what she achieves politically until 2018, says an ecologist.
But other critics go even further and argue that Romsons inability to carry out the Party’s policy is becoming a problem.
– There are very many who are upset. Many think that it has gone a bit too far now. It has happened so many things, and what is most alarming is that Asa did not seem to want to improve themselves. We have a leader who does not understand how to talk politics, says a source.
According to Aftonbladet’s sources was a printed citation in the Cabinet Office this morning. At lunchtime went Åsa Romson out and clarified the apology for his statements which she called for “gaffe”.
Romson regret
She also regretted that her statement taken the focus away from the issues she and MP wanted to debate.
– This is what I regret the most. We have an important debate to bring, as ecologists, also with the reforms that we are creating within the government for Sweden to take steps to bring the climate challenge seriously.
She vowed his party will do better debates in the future.
The Green Party party secretary Anders Wallner says that of course there are party members who responded.
– It has been thought, just as Asa said, that the parable was wrong. But they also share the frustration of the humanitarian disaster taking place in the Mediterranean.
