A man in his 20s from Sundsvall swam out To retrieve a deleted kicked football.
When he got a bite out of the country, he disappeared from the surface of the icy water.
Now is feared that the man has drowned.
At 14:20 o’clock on Friday afternoon alerted SOS both police and rescue of a drowning in the inner harbor in Sundsvall.
The event must have occurred in when a group of men playing football at a nearby soccer field at the south quay
– That which arrived via witnesses is that a bunch of young men played football at the site, says Börje Öhman, Head of Communications at police in Västernorrland .
soccer shall then have fallen into the water, whereupon one of the men took off his clothes and swam out to retrieve it.
– He has swum 50-75 meters out from land before he disappeared. Teachers are not many minutes in this cold water. The temperature is somewhere between zero and three degrees, says Börje Öhman.
The man now feared to have drowned.
The rescue had previously divers in the water and the police söktte after the man along country. Sökarbetet was based on the theory that man is not made it to the country.
– Unfortunately we believe that he is still in the water. Even if you survive long because it is so incredibly cold starts hopes fade that you will find anywhere in life.
According to Sundsvall Journal emergency services were still out at 15:20 pm searched by boat in the water outside the youth field .
According to the incident commander at the scene, Bengt Granström says to st.nu Coast Guard has no dykresurser to send to the site.
Shortly after 16 o’clock announced communications manager Börje Öhman to the rescue personnel suspended the search in the water but that divers instead was sent from Västerbotten to Sundsvall to continue searching.
