The price of the minister’s trip: 242 000 SEK – Expressen

When the victims of the tsunami disaster was honored at the tenth anniversary was Minister Asa Regner (S) on location in Thailand.

The minister flew to the country with the Government of the plane, and stayed for less than a day.

The cost of the trip landed on almost a quarter of a million dollars, writes Aftonbladet .

On December 26 last year highlighted the tenth anniversary of the great tsunami disaster in 2004 at a ceremony in Phuket, Thailand.

Children, the elderly and Gender Equality Minister Asa Regner (S), the Swedish government representative on site during the ceremony.

Together with a small team consisting of a Secretary of State, two press secretary, a Deputy Director and an employee at SAPO flew minister to Thailand in government plane the day before.

Less than a day later lifted the government plane in the opposite direction, back to Sweden.

The cost of the flight landed at almost a quarter of a million, 242,100 crowns.

“Worth the money”

For Aftonbladet says the minister that the trip was worth the money:

– I think it was very important that the Government was present at this ceremony. And I know that it was very important for families that we were there. I think it was money well spent, she says.

The Minister further says that it was the Prime Minister’s assessment that formed the basis for the trip, and she assumes that they weighed up the various costs and set against the air assets were available.

“Appreciated by relatives”

– This is a very expensive destination during the holidays. I do not have the exact comparative data on what other plan would cost. Or if there was access to travel. But it was very set the mode for the government to travel there and I know it was appreciated by the family, she says to Aftonbladet.

On Thursday reported that the government plane flown between Arlanda and Bromma, a distance of 41 miles, on six occasions the past few months to a hourly rate of 10,800 crowns.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven criticized the alliance government’s use of government aircraft when he was in opposition. But shortly after he took over as prime minister he flew to Visby to tell the hotel and restaurant trade union, HRF, Congress.

When relations between Sweden and Saudi Arabia needed to be repaired, the government sent former President von Sydow to Saudi Arabia to deliver two letters to the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The bill for the flight landed at 144,900 crowns.
