The defense: Suspect submarine was a workboat – Expressen

Last fall photographed a suspected submarine in the inlet towards Gåshaga on Lidingö.

Now – half a year later – Armed Forces finished with his analysis.

One week after the acclaimed submarine hunt in Stockholm archipelago made even an observation that the defense deemed interesting.

After Work on the observation is now complete, says Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

The retired Lieutenant Colonel Sven Olof Kviman saw a black craft on the water as he was convinced was a submarine from a foreign power.

– I saw immediately that it was a submarine. When I took the binoculars I saw it right in her face, said he told Expressen then.

The observation was graded first as a runner on a six-point scale – which means “probable submarine.” It should now be graded down to a fifth – which stands for “non submarine,” writes Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

This week should Rear Admiral Anders Grenstad contact Sven-Olof Kviman and explain why .

According Kviman defense should have come to the conclusion that the image that he took pictures dinghy Time Bandit.

– I’m still convinced it was a submarine I saw. The pictures I’ve seen on the internet of the Time Bandit is not the least being equal, the boat is additionally just too small. But I can always have seen wrong and there may be more boats called so, he says.

At a conference of the Foreign Policy Association in Gothenburg on Saturday should Anders Grenstad have said that Kvimans observation gard been down, writes Svenska Dagbladet.

Defence Forces say they confirm what Grenstad reported to have said, but would not otherwise comment on anything.

Later in our defense will present a complete analysis of this autumn’s anti-submarine warfare and present it to the Supreme Commander.
