Heart disease did not reach SOS – Skovde News

Care. A person fainted and had pains in the heart. His friends called SOS Alarm for 25 minutes without success.
For unknown reasons it was not possible to reach 112 for part of Thursday night.

Odd Fellow lodge had meeting at St. Olaf Street in Falkirk on Thursday evening. A member of the 65-year-old went into cardiac pain, fainted and his comrades immediately called an ambulance.

– I called from the fixed phone in the kitchen, two others called from their mobiles. No one came forward. We got the message that we were in a queue, but after five minutes the call was disconnected down, explains Johan Andersson.

And so it went on and Johan tried to call police at 114 14. But where was the cue for five minutes.

– We felt that it was urgent and started to panic, says Johan Andersson.

The police swung

John had, after a previous älgolycka, the phone number for the police command center in Gothenburg. He got in touch with them and from Falkirk was alerted police who in turn made sure the ambulance quickly arrived on the spot.

The man was taken to hospital in Skövde for the care and judged to be serious danger.

– How to get there simply is not going to. I think that it’s okay to have to wait for the ambulance, but then I want to be able to get advice from nurses SOS Alarm so that I know what to do during the wait, says Johan Andersson.

Two systems

SOS had suffered a malfunction on its technical platform. A situation that should not occur.

– We have two parallel systems that should not suffer interruptions at the same time. But we had difficulty getting over to the alternate system. It was for a long time that one could not call 112, says Anders Ready Power, Press Manager at SOS Alarm.

Exactly what went wrong is not yet clear.

– The error came on slowly over a long period and became increasingly worse. We therefore went out with an important message to the public, explains Anders Ready Power.

Can the act of sabotage?

– No, we do not believe. There is no evidence of external influences.

What do you advise the public to do if something similar happens again?

– Some municipalities went out with their own number who could steer on. But at the same time we are keen that there are too many emergency numbers, says Ready Power.

SOS Alarm will investigate what caused the interruption and report to the Agency for Safety and preparedness. Thereafter, the Authority shall consider what can be done instead.

Can not you send out messages to all mobile users when similar situations occur?

– The mobile network would not do it.
