Kyle Schwartz is primary school teacher who came on a brilliant but simple plan to understand more of their students’ everyday lives. She asked them simply do what they wished she knew about them. The responses from the students, who mostly come from poor families, really opened Kyle’s eyes to how tough life many of her students live.
The ABC News report that Kyle as a new teacher at a school in Denver has really taken advantage of the method:
– As a new teacher, I struggle to understand my students’ reality, to know how I can best help them.

With the question” I wish my teachers knew … “she hoped for answers to questions she did not even know that she would ask. And the children’s answers were really engaged the teacher’s heart cry:
– I care about every one of my students, says Kyle, and I do not want any of them to suffer poverty they live in. It is my biggest motivation as a teacher.

According to ABC, she was so taken by the responses she decided to outsource some of them on twitter, mostly to encourage other teachers to try the same question to his students.
