Attempted robbery – four raided a gold shop – Expressen

Four robbers raided a gold shop in Saltsjöbadens center on Friday at noon.

But the store was not open – and the robbers fled empty-handed from the scene empty-handed.

At 11:30 o’clock got a police patrol spotted the car – then they could seize the four people at Gudöbroleden outside Stockholm.

Now the police will investigate a suspicious gold ring which may have struck even in Jakobsbergsgatan earlier this week.

It was just after 11 o’clock on Friday that four people stepped in to Saltsjöbadens center to rob the place.

Their probable goal was a gold shop located in the shopping center, according to police.

– The shop had not opened as scheduled so they broke off and jumped into the theft notified car they were traveling in, says Sven-Erik Olsson at Stockholm police länskommunikationscentral.

The store owner arrived at the scene shortly after the robbers tried to enter.

– Just today we were a little extra late opening. We were so lucky with the timing that it is not true, says the owner.

Shortly thereafter, at 11:25, got a police patrol spotted the car.

After a short while four people could be arrested at Gudöbroleden.

– At least one of them had a longer weapon like objects. Now we will examine it and see if it concerns a real weapon, says Sven-Erik Olsson.

Shortly after the incident was Expressen in contact with a witness at the scene.

– For the fourth since it came four masked and armed, and went into the big center entrance and there lies the jewelry store just to the right.

The schools in the Stockholm area have spring break this week and the crude occasion was the center of the plant, which is now sealed-off, well-attended.

– It was quite a stir. Crying children, in the midst of their spring break, which was taken care of by staff from other stores. They called their parents, said the witness.

They will then have left the place in a “gray TINPOT car” of the cluster model, according to the witness.

Thursday robbed a gold shop in Jakobsbergsgatan outside Stockholm by four masked and armed men. No one has been arrested for involvement in the robbery. It is unclear whether Thursday’s crimes have no connection with today’s robbery attempt.

Sven-Erik Olsson says to Expressen that the police will investigate whether there is a connection between the two robberies.

– We’ll have to watch these characters’ activities. Get hold of some, as in this case, check whether they can fit into something else, too.

Is it unthinkable?

– No, absolutely not. It is clear, we get hold of some offenders, we try to tie them to other crimes as well – offenses that may be consistent with what they are doing, says Sven-Erik Olsson.
